The first volume (1897-1899) records amounts due or paid quarterly on inmate accounts, and lists of goods issued to and articles made in the tailor shop. The second volume (1902-1904), labeled "Tailor Shop Slips," is arranged first chronologically, thereunder by admission number. It is a record (weekly, with monthly recapitulation) of clothing made or mended for inmates, and other items made for the institution in the tailor shop. Information recorded includes date; admission number, costs of material, labor, and "percentage," and total cost; name of inmate, department, or residence hall; and classification of type of work done (such as aprons, suits, pants, coats, mending, shrouds, mattresses, sheets, strait jackets).
